EFT
One Session Wonder! No PhD required. It's true! Practically anyone can learn and apply EFT. None the less, this approach is so radically different from what we are used to in terms of changework. Therefore, further understanding of the difference is well worth exploring. We have, essentially, two component parts: The problem presented, and the emotional state it evokes. EFT deals directly with the emotion. Why? You may well ask. Just as all vehicles require fuel to run, the presented problem requires a fuel as well. This fuel is the emotional component. We talk about "the problem" so as to get it out (of the body). By talking about it, and especially to someone that seems to listen, we feel a little better because of that listening. Sometimes, this is sufficient, and we move on with our lives. Sometimes, it is not sufficient simply to be listened to, and a few days later, we find ourselves thinking once again about the problem, and getting upset all over again. To add insult to
injury, the brain is like a giant tape recorder. Each time we re-access
and repeat the story, the brain files this as a new memory. This is
a partial explanation of how we keep "the problem" over time - it is
constantly being renewed. So why do we find ourselves repeating it?
Because the
body wants it out of the system. |

"Sure, that's why I said what I said. I've seen several over the years. We talk and talk, I spend a lot of money, and the problem's still the same." "What problem?" I asked quietly.
"This public speaking thing. I'm a union rep. I have to talk to a lot of people. Groups are the worst. I have to have a drink to settle my stomach first. If I don't, my mouth goes dry, my brain goes blank, and I end up feeling like a fourteen year old on his first date." I gave Joe a brief explanation of EFT, and as a reward, Joe, all 200 lbs. Of him, gave me a sour look. "Doc, I gotta tell you, that's the weirdest thing I ever heard of," said Joe, still looking rather sour and sceptical, all at the same time. "Well, think about the last time you spoke to some people, I said, "And pick a time that was especially painful." After a few seconds passed, I said, "If nothing else, this will help you relax a bit," and proceeded to tap the P.R. point on the side of his hand as I had him say, "Even though I get really nervous when I have to talk to people..." Joe interrupted to say, "It's only when I talk to people about work issues." We changed it to "Even though when I talk to people about work issues, and get really, really nervous, I deeply and completely accept myself." Joe repeated this three times, then I tapped the rest of the points for him, using the phrase, "This speaking problem." The look on Joe's face was obviously different. After a few seconds of silence, Joe said, 'Doc, that is the weirdest thing. My stomach's calm, and I feel, well, relaxed." We spent the remaining part of the session talking and Joe made an appointment for the following week. "I have a meeting Friday night, so I'll see you Tuesday with the bad news," he said. Monday, Joe phoned the office at 9:00 AM. "Hey! They were a great bunch! I had no problem at all! Do you think I should come in tomorrow?" We cancelled the appointment, and a few weeks later, Joe told me he'd had several meetings since, and all he thought about was the issues at hand, there was no indicators of nervousness at all. I picked this one case as an example because of the following. Joe had experienced this nervousness for years. He'd taken the time, and made the effort to resolve it, but hadn't been able to. In one session, or part of a session actually, EFT resolved the nervousness with the accompanying symptoms that were triggered by having to stand before a group and talk. Not all applications of EFT resolve an issue so quickly, but as you use it more and more, it's inevitable you will experience the very same things, sooner or later. A long standing problem can simply disappear in one brief application. Welcome to the magic of EFT. And, this is just the beginning. Neil Armstrong's Special Words On July 20, 1969, Neil Armstrong was the first person to set foot on the moon. His first words, upon stepping on the moon, "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind!" Were televised to Earth and heard by millions. Just before he re-entered the lander, he made the enigmatic remark, "Good luck, Mr. Gorsky!" Many people thought it was a casual remark concerning some rival Soviet cosmonaut. However, NASA confirmed there was no Mr. Gorsky in either the Soviet or American space programs. Over the years, people questioned Armstrong about the statement, but he only smiled. Finally, on July 5, 1995, at Tampa Bay, Florida, while answering questions following a speech, a reporter once again brought up the 26-year old question to Armstrong. This time, he responded. Mr. Gorsky had died, and so Neil Armstrong felt he could now answer the question. Apparently, in 1938, as a kid in a small mid-west town, he was playing baseball with a friend in his backyard. As his friend hit the ball, it landed in his neighbour's yard, by their bedroom window. The neighbours were Mr. And Mrs. Gorsky. As young Neil bent to pick up the ball, he heard Mrs. Gorsky yelling at her husband, "Sex? You want sex? You'll get sex when the kid next door walks on the moon!"
Answer:
Study indicates singing boosts immune system Frankfurt, Germany - singing strengthens the immune system, according to research by scientists at the University of Frankfurt published in the latest edition of the U.S. Journal of Behavioral Medicine. The scientists tested the blood of people who sang in a professional choir in the city, before and after a 60 minute rehearsal of Mozart's "Requiem." They found that concentrations of immunoglobin A - proteins in the immune system which function as anti-bodies - and hydrocoritosne, an anti-stress hormone, increased significantly during the rehearsal. A week later, when they asked members of the choir to listen to a recording of the "Requiem" without singing, they found the composition of their blood did not change significantly. The researchers, who included Hans Guenther Bastian from the Institute of Musical Education at Frankfurt University, concluded that singing not only strengthened the immune system but also notably improved the performer's mood.
Seminars in Europe Learn EFT in Spain and Holland Seminars in May 2004
They say a picture is worth a thousand words...
Or, you could attend an EFT seminar in Holland at this beautiful location
Both countries are rich in history and culture, and are a great place
to learn EFT!
We are now well into 2004 and time is flying by. It certainly seems to go faster the older I get. At this time of year I find I'm eagerly awaiting the first signs of Spring. They haven't appeared yet. So, my thoughts turn to "what can I look forward to." I'm very fortunate this year, as we have a lot to look forward to. We are busy with our seminars here and will be travelling to Spain and Holland in May to present EFT to a whole bunch of new people. It seems our dream of spreading the word about EFT is working. But, we can't claim all the credit. We owe a huge "Thank You" to some wonderful people in Spain and Holland for arranging to bring us, and EFT, to Europe. We wouldn't be going without their help! You may have noticed in our newsletter and on our website, we are promoting the countries of Spain and Holland, as well as, EFT. I think there's something very special about travelling to a country AND learning something new, like EFT. And, the two countries we're going to are very special. Both are steeped in history, culture and beauty. Also, they are very different from each other. So, there's an exciting opportunity awaiting you... learn EFT and have the holiday of a lifetime! If you need any help in planning your trip, please contact us, or Fimme and Inger in Spain at fimmel@teleline.es and Lydia in Holland at l.carels@carelsrecruitment.nl We would be happy to help in any way we can. I think there's a part of me that thinks I'm a travel agent or at the very least, a tour guide. :-) I'll leave you with visions of windmills, tulips, delicious cheeses, wonderful beer, flamenco, excellent wines & sherry, great art, beautiful old buildings, and gorgeous beaches... these are the things we could be enjoying in May, how about you? Till next month, take care.
